How the Mareh boats
work in Fortim

The boats are the part of Mareh that only exists because of Fortim's geography: they leave from the Barra, where the Rio Jaguaribe meets the sea, and spend the afternoon on the water with an open bar and a DJ. In the 2026/27 edition there are three sailings, all from Canto da Barra. Here are the dates, the times, who plays on each one and what to know before boarding.

📅 The dates

Three boats, each with its own DJ duo

According to the festival's official website, checked on November 2, 2026, the Mareh boats sail on three days of the festival week, which runs from December 26, 2026 to January 2, 2027. Each sailing has a different duo playing on board:

  • Sunday, December 27: Eric Duncan & Mafalda
  • Wednesday, December 30: Dicky Trisco & Giu Nunez
  • Saturday, January 2: Mendel & Sanctuary
i
The boats fall on days with no party at night. The parties are on December 28 and 31, so you can do a boat and a party on consecutive days without one getting in the way of the other.
🕐 Times

Boarding, departure and return

Boarding is at [Canto da Barra](/en/beaches/canto-da-barra/), the main beach of Barra do Fortim, and runs from noon to 1 pm. The boat leaves at 1 pm and is due back at 5:30 pm. On the official timetable, the music starts at 2 pm, once everyone is on board.

In practice, that means getting to Canto da Barra before 12:30, having eaten something, because it is a long afternoon. If you are staying in Pontal de Maceió, you need to cross to the Barra: it is about 4 km by road, around 8 minutes by car. Without a car, book a moto-taxi, buggy or taxi the day before.

If you stay in the Barra, you can walk. In Barra do Fortim, Barra Beach House is 300 m from the beach, with chalets and a pool to rest between the boat's return and the evening.

🌊 The scenery

What you see from the water: the Jaguaribe river mouth

Canto da Barra sits right next to the Rio Jaguaribe river mouth, where the river reaches the Atlantic after crossing Ceará for 633 km. This meeting of fresh and salt water creates the shallow water and sandbanks that shape the Barra's landscape.

From a boat, the river mouth shows an angle you cannot get from the beach. On one side are the green banks of the mangroves; on the other, the open sea. Across the river stand the wind farm towers, and the lighthouse stands near Praia do Farol.

The scenery changes with the tide. At low tide, the sandbanks are exposed and draw the shape of the river mouth; at high tide, the river is fuller. Check the tide table for the day of your boat to know what to expect.

🎟️ Tickets

How much it costs and how to buy

On the official website, each boat ticket cost R$ 420 on November 2, 2026, with an open bar included. The boat is sold separately from the parties: the pass for both parties is R$ 2,200 and a single party R$ 1,300. Sales go through the official link given on mareh.com.br.

The official website says the wristbands picked up at the Beach Bar, in Pontal de Maceió, are used for the parties and for drinks at the bar. It does not say whether the boat uses the same wristband. If in doubt, ask the organizers before boarding day.

This website is an independent guide: it does not sell tickets and has no link to the Mareh organizers. Prices, times and line-up may change, so always check the official website and our Mareh Festival guide.

🎒 Before boarding

What to bring for the afternoon on the boat

It is four and a half hours in the middle of the afternoon, in late December, with coastal sun and wind. The official website does not publish a packing list for the boats, so the tips below are common sense for a long outing on the water in Fortim.

  • Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat or cap that won't blow away
  • Swimwear underneath and a light shirt for the sun
  • Phone in a waterproof case or a sealed bag
  • ID and your ticket confirmation
  • Travel light: a big bag gets in the way on board
i
Open bar and strong sun call for water between drinks. And agree on the 5:30 pm return with your group before boarding: late in the afternoon, everyone gets off at Canto da Barra at the same time.
