Where to Watch the Sunset in Fortim:
Pontal or Agulhas Beach?

Fortim has at least two spots competing for the region's best sunset — choosing between them comes down to how much of a crowd you're willing to share the view with.

⛪ Pontal de Maceió

The classic, with amenities nearby

The Pontal de Maceió lookout is Fortim's most sought-after sunset spot, with a view of the cliffs, the fishing village and the fishing rafts anchored along the shore.

Since it's inside the village, it's easy to follow the sunset with dinner at one of Pontal's chef-driven restaurants — the convenience is real, but it's also the busiest spot in the late afternoon.

🌾 Agulhas Beach

Farther out, and much quieter

For anyone who wants the sunset without sharing the view with a crowd, Agulhas beach is the alternative — a stretch of sand that's practically deserted, with no beach stalls or lifeguards.

You need to bring everything you'll use (water, a chair, a light for the walk back) and leave before it gets fully dark, since the beach has no lighting.

i
Check the tide chart before deciding where to go — at high tide, access to some spots in Pontal gets more limited, which can push the choice toward Agulhas even for those who prefer the village.
📸 Practical tip

Arrive at least 30 minutes early

At both Pontal and Agulhas, the best angles depend on your position relative to the cliffs or dunes — arriving with time to spare lets you try more than one spot before the sun fully sets.
