Canal do Amor ("Love Channel") is a narrower arm of the Rio Jaguaribe, surrounded by mangrove vegetation, that's usually part of the region's longer boat tour routes — the name itself is part of the tour's appeal.
Ilha do Pinto is one of the stops along this stretch, usually included as part of the same boat route that passes through the channel.
Unlike the tour that heads straight for where the river meets the sea, the route to Canal do Amor is slower-paced and focused on the mangrove's vegetation and wildlife — birds and the exposed-root scenery at low tide are part of the setting.
Anyone already familiar with the crossing and the shorter river tour tends to get more out of this stretch — it's a more contemplative route, better suited for those with time to spare who want to see a less-photographed side of Fortim.
